Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Detect AI, available at https://detect-ai.org (the "Service"). By accessing, browsing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Service. Detect AI is operated by the team behind GPTKiller (https://gptkiller.kr).
Acceptance of terms
Your use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and any policies referenced within them, including our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Detect AI. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
Description of the service
Detect AI is a free, browser-based tool that analyzes text you submit and returns an estimated probability that the content was generated by artificial intelligence rather than written by a human. No account, signup, or payment is required to use the Service. The analysis is automated and produces a statistical estimate only. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features at any time without prior notice.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You must not submit content you have no right to share, and you must not use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or infringing purpose. You may not scrape, crawl, or subject the Service to automated requests that overload or disrupt it, nor attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or its output as your own product without our written permission.
No guarantee of accuracy
AI content detection is inherently probabilistic and imperfect. The score the Service returns is a statistical estimate, not a definitive measurement or proof of how any text was produced. Detection models can and do produce both false positives (flagging human writing as AI) and false negatives (missing AI-generated text), and accuracy varies with language, length, subject matter, and editing. Results are provided for informational purposes only.
You must not rely on the Service as the sole basis for any academic, employment, disciplinary, or legal decision, or for any action that could affect a person's rights, reputation, or livelihood. Any such decision requires independent verification and human judgment. Detect AI is not responsible for outcomes resulting from reliance on its scores, and you assume full responsibility for how you interpret and act on the results.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, text, logos, and underlying models, is owned by Detect AI or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You retain any rights you already hold in the text you submit; we claim no ownership of your input. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.
Advertising
The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. These advertisements and any third-party content, offers, or links displayed alongside them are provided by external parties and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party products, services, or websites. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and them.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We expressly disclaim all warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any result it produces is correct or complete. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Detect AI, its operators, and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, reputation, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service. This applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date shown above. Material changes may be highlighted where practical, but it is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved under that applicable law and, where required, before the competent courts of that jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country of residence.
